When my Nanny died I didn’t ask for anything of hers except her night gowns that I got her growing up. They’re silky and when I have a bad day wearing them makes me feel better. She’s been gone 7 months now. And there isn’t a day I don’t miss her. Today I got the news that my 81 year old grandfather after being married to my nanny for 63 years is now going to remarry a woman he has been with for two weeks… Next month. I’m hurt, I’m angry, I’m sad, I’m confused there is no way to explain how I feel. I’m broken down. How can he do this. My nanny was the perfect bible wife.

Do you realize that 33 days from now will be 4 years, four long hard years without you by my side? Loosing yu was one of the hardest things I ever went through. It’s something I struggle with Day to Day, I can talk about you to anyone, I can tell them what happened and it doesn’t hurt as bad as it did 4 years ago, but it also doesn’t mean I’m over it. It doesn’t mean that every day I wake up and live through another day and realize that you could so easily be right here and you’re not. You hated me crying when you were here so I try not to cry to much over you but nights like tonight I break down. I feel you around me, I know you’re watching me but it’s not the same. Its been so long I have says where I can’t even remember the sound of your voice. Do you know how bad that hurts?! For so long I kept myself pretending this was just a big vacation and I would see you soon, but now I’ve come to terms that’s it’s going to be a while before I see you. I would give anything in this world to hug you and have a day with you just laugh and talk and I know you see everything, but I want to tell you about if. I want to call you on Fridays and tell you I’m on my way to pick you up, and come back to my house and swim because that’s what you loved to do… But that’s what took you from me… Stupid water… The same stupid water you said wouldn’t hurt me. Everyone looks at me crazy when i tell them I’m scared of water, but they don’t understand why. No. One will ever understand. Over the past 4 years I’ve watched myself progress from not going near a pool to getting in every now and then, and I can do perfectly Fine on the boat. You’d be so proud of everything I’m accomplishing. I wish May 8th I’d be getting a call asking if I’m still coming to your 17th birthday I just know you’d be so excited to plan for it. Every little thing makes me think of you. I write about you all the time is school, seems you’re my best topic. You knew me like the back of your hand. This pain is so hard, but your mom and sister and family get me through it. Seeing their faces reminds me so much of you. When I see mom my heart drops because you and her look so much alike. You’d be so happy to know she finally used the dishwasher, makes you kinda jealous huh? Babygirl, I miss your beautiful face, and your sweet voice.
